Utah Fish Chase
The fish bring us here, the experience will chase us back
Native Bonneville Cutthroat
Native Trout Chase is for the purest out there looking for the challenge of catching all three native trout to Utah in their native habitat on dry flies. This program is designed to educate anglers about our native trout as well as the rivers that they live in and what we can do as angler to help perserve and protect them.
Here’s how it works: In one calender year one must catch all three native cutthroat trout to Utah (Bonneville, Colorado, Yellowstone) with a dry fly in there native habitat, each fish must be photographed. Once completed email in: All three photographs, with the location and date written in the text of the email. Once completed you will receive a certificate of completion as well as a Native Trout Bum hat. (Trust me the hats will be cool)
Note: If you don’t want to do the program, but still want to chase these fish that’s great too!

Utah Fish Bum Program
Do you have what it takes to catch every game fish Utah has to offer on a fly rod? Are you a certified UFFC Fish Bum? If not, then the Utah Fish Chase is just right for you.
Here is how it works: There are three levels that one must reach to become an official UFFC Fish Bum. To reach these levels one must catch each of the fish on the list, take a pic of each fish, state when and where it was caught. (Or if you want to keep it a personal challenge without pics and having to send it in that’s great too, this can a personal chase) When completed send in the information to UFFC, to receive your official certificate of completion for each of the three levels. This a great way to learn about the fish that live here in Utah as well as the diverse fishing opportunities that Utah has to offer. So get out there and enjoy the challenge of the chase.
Level One- Utah Trout Bum (Even though there not all technically all trout):Bonneville Cutthroat, Colorado Cutthroat, Bear Lake Cutthroat, Yellowstone Cutthroat, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Spake (and as a bonus Golden Trout but not necessary)
Level Two- Utah Bass Bum: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Striper, White Bass, Wiper.
Level Three- Utah Fish Bum: Tiger Musky, Northern Pike, Kokanee, Walleye, Perch, Crappie, Blue Gill or Sunfish, Catfish, Bonneville Whitefish, Arctic Grayling, Carp.
Note: If you don’t want to do the program, but still want to chase these fish that’s great too!
